Post : 5th Meeting

The fifth meeting was basically training for the dikir barat. Everybody is involved and considering this is their first time doing it, they did a pretty good job. Well done!

Anabelle Yik, Ameeruldin, Zen Hoe were absent from the meeting.

In future, let's make it a point to inform/remind each other about meetings. This will

help us develop the habit of looking after one another because in Vietnam,

we will definitely need to look out for one another.

Hi all, Mrs Ong and myself have come up with the english and chinese version of Geylang si paku Geylang for the dikir barat. The chinese version is a translation from the english version.

Post : 4th Meeting

The pupils have a fruitful meeting on 07/09 in comp lab 4 from 9am - 11am. 27 pupils attended the meeting. Annabelle Yik and Weixhan were absent.

The pupils were given 2 letters: consent and parents briefing letter. They were told to inform their parents regarding the 2 parents briefing and the consent/withdrawal from the programme.
They were also told about the 6 rehearsal dates.

The pupils practiced 3 songs: Peng You, Top of the World and Geylang Si Paku Geylang.
We'd like to thank Irfan and Hendra for teaching Ameerulddin, Amirul and Hari the dikir barat. The 3 boys were fantanstic as they picked up the technique very fast.

Rehearsal dates

Hi all,

Please inform your parents that there will be a parents briefing on the 18/09 and 23/10(both Fridays)at 7pm. Letters will be issued this coming Monday.

Please also take note of the following practice/rehearsal dates for your performance
1. 07/09 - First practice (intro to songs)
2. 15/09 - able to sing the song (with song sheet)
3. 22/09 - singing of song without song sheet
4. 14/10
5. 20/10
6. 27/10 - final rehearsal

4th Meeting

Dear all,

Apologies for postponing the meeting at the last minute yesterday because all the teachers were involved in some other things.
Our next meeting will be on the first day of school holiday, 07/09/09 (Monday, at 9 am in comp lab 4).
I've asked some of the boys from 3T1 to teach some of you the tiket barat on that day. The rest of you will prepare a song or dance item.
And remember to bring along your autobiography.
